Environmental Pet Portrait

A.k.a. pets in their happy places!

Something a bit different from my usual style. Do you like it?

As some of you may know, I don’t particularly like including a lot of the landscapes in my portraits. Because our subjects - our furry friends and their humans - should be the centre of all the attention! Right? Yeah, but…

But, when the background helps to show the nature of the dog, how happy they are, and the moment of freedom and joy they’re living in - all in a clean, refined and artistic way not in a distracting way, environmental portraits are a great way to show your pet’s story and immortalise their life memories with you.

This portrait of Milo was taken while he was enjoying his favourite thing of his life - walking with his human in his neighbourhood. I can smell the fresh air, the soft sunshine and his happiness of the day in this photograph!

I have some beautiful environmental pet portraits from my recent trip to Scotland. I’ll share some of them too when I finish retouching. Stay tuned!
